Washington, May 4. - The president has sent to the senate the following nominations: Interior - Webster Davis of Missouri, to be assistant secretary of the interior. War - Lieutenant Colonel William Henry Porwood, deputy surgeon general, to be colonel and assistant surgeon general. Also other army promotions.
