On Monday the Argus received a cali from Lucien Dufay, a young Frenchinan reptesenting Le Journal, of Paris, France. Mr. Dufay is a globe trotter par excellence and has already made the trip from Paris on foot, as far as dry land would allow him to do. When next he sets foot in Paris in December, 1899, he expects to have accomplished a trip around the world. He is not doiug tbis for a wager but to improve his knowledge of things in general, and be has undertakeu to do it without a cent in bis pookets. He is on his way to San Francisco, and from thence he will sail to Japan and visit Eastern Asia, Siberia, Rnssia and the conntries included in the most direct line from there to his home in Paris. Dufay can speak but very little English, although he can read and write it. Bruno St. James accompanied him in his cali on the Argus and acted as interpreter.
