Presidential Nominations

Washington, June 1. - The president Tuesday sent the following nominations to the senate: William Haywood of the District of Columbia, to be secretary of the legation and consul general ot the United States at Honolulú, Hawali; William L. Penfleld of Indiana, to besclicitor oí the department of state; John K. Thompson, marshal of the United States for the district of West Virginia; John J. De Haven, United States district judge for the northern district of California.
