The Ypsilanti oorrespondene of the Detroit Tribune, of Aug. 24, gives the following acoount of how the unwise iufringement of a contract with the Michigan Central Railroad cansed the company to protect the prior rights of another party and cancel its contract with the offending party : "Ypsilanti, Mich., Special Telegram, Aug. 23.- 'How Dr. Ryan of the M. E. church spoiled tbe Sunday school rally excursión to Detroit' is the latest subeot of looal interest. It appears that the Masonio bodies of this oity had arranged for an excarsion next Wednesday, to go to Tashmoo park, via Detroit. Thirty-six cars had been ordered to be in waiting. The Presby:erian and Methodist Stnday schools iad also arranged for an excnrsion ;o Detroit for Rally day Sept. 2, and jad decided to place the round trip tickets at 10 less than the Masonio excursión charged. B. M. Damon, the local Michigan Central agent, admonished the Sunday school people not todo any advertising until after the Masonic excursión as he must give proteotion to all such patroDage. This was agreed to. Dr. Kyan, however, in the Suuday evening union services, jumped up and told all about the Sunday school excnrsion, and advertised its rates before a big crowd of people. Tbis made the Masons of this oity warm today and they demanded the protection of the railroad company. The Miobigan Central, therefore, today deolared the Sunday school excursión off and annulled the contract with them. (1A large number of the Sunday school people are exasperated at Dr. Ryan who, it is claimed, knew all about tbe cirournstances and should not have said anything until after Wednesday."
