Trenton, N. J., Aug. 24. - Peter Crozer, secretary and treasurer of the Mercer and Merchants' Building and Loan associations, is short $89,740.58 in his accounts, if the report made Monday hy the committee of investigation, quietly appcinted some weeks ago, is well founded. Crozer, who is about 65 years oíd, has not been arrested. He has a wife and family and until recently stood high in the community. His only answer to the charge thus far made known is a denial of the correctness of the figures. The report of the committee showg that 1,500 shares of the companies are outstanding to the value of $194,151.76, while the assets are $104,411.18. The difference represents the shortage.
