Alger's Vacation Over

Washington, Sept. 7. - Secretary Alger is again at his desk at the war department af ter ,being" with the president since the latter began his vacation. Tu an interview he said: "We found everywhere multitudes of people turning out to greet the president and all the testimony we got showed the happiness of the people over feeling that the tide had turned and that there was work to do and enough food to eat. Nothing doses the mouth of the grumbler to quicklv as work and food and now there is work and wages for all."
