Ypsilanti has a bicyole ordinance whicb forbids wbeelmen riding ou the sidewalks uuder penalty of a fine. Five or six ariests have been raade under its provisions and the offenders were takeu before Jnstice Childs who let thfun off without a fine. And now there is war on in consequence between the comrnou oouncil and the dispenser of justice. At the meeting of the common conncil Monday eveuing Aid. Worden and Daivs rnade fiery speeches agaiust Justice Childs' action and the conncil refused to allow his fee bilis for making out the warrants, etc._ Jnstioe Cbilds gets back at the couucil, however, in the following teims : "I want the oornmon council to understand that I arn doing my dnty as I see it, and thLy will pay me for the work done for the city. If not, at the nest oornmou conncil meeting they will be at one end of a snit. Those are my lfigal fees and I am going to have thanj. Furtber, I may quote to the common council on their refusal to pay au bonest bilĂ­ a line or two from Shakespeare which runs 'Man clothed with a little brief anthority commits suoh pianks before high Heaveu aK make the angels weep. ' "
