Dr. George A. Waterman, who has been selected to take the place of profeSsor of veterinary science at the Agricultnral College, made vacant by the resignatiou of Dr. E. A. A. Grange, Í9 uative a of Washtenaw couDty, having beeü bom and bronght cp on a farm near Saline. He vrorked his way throogh the Agricnltural College, teachiug winters, and graduating with the class of '91, witb high staDding. While in college he gave especial atteütion to veteriuary work, and soon after gradnatiug entered the Chicago Weterinary College completing the conise in one year and graduatiug in the spring of 1893, racking second in a large class. He settled at Reading, JNiich., for practice, bnt soon leceived a cali from th6 Couuecticut Agricultnral College, st Storrs, and becarne professor of veteriuary scieuce tbere. Ho was not a candidato for the position at Lansing, bnt his ?ood work at Stoirs oalled atteution to bis fitness. He is about 80 years of age, and is married.
