By way of illustratiug the nervousness wbich the reeent explosions have xevived liero, a queer adventure wbich lias just befallen the heirs of a house ■owner may be mentioned. Two of the nephews had had put on their hats and were on the poiiit of rushing off to the office of the nearest polico commissary, wheu the lawyer, who had been quietly iiispecting tbe box, calmly suggested that it might siinply coutaiu souie preserved fruit, 'lliis theory somewhat reassured the men, but the latlies would .have their way; The conüuissary was sent for, and the mysterieus box was soon on itsway to the municipal laboratory. It was found to contain a piueapple, the stalk of which had been mistaken for a fuse. So the gcod old uncle, who had been souugratefully rualigned, had not been an anarchist af ter all. -
