St. Thomas Church Fair
The St. Thomas chorch fair came to an end Tuesday night, or rather 1 o'olook Wednesday ruoruiug, after a most 8uccessful rnn of eight days. Io the votiug contest for the vestmeuts Fr. Kelly, as was expected, came out ahead of Fr. Goldrick, the vote standiug 2,541 to 1,263. For the bioycle Miss Minnie Dwyer came out ahead, and Miss Lizzie Covert won the hat contest. The net reoeipts of the fair are placed at about $2,000. The visit to the fair of Mayor Maybury, of Detroit, Tuesday evening, inoreased the attendance np to 1,000 persous. He was introdnced to those present liy Mayor Charles E. Hiscock and be made one of the pleasant speeches to them for which he is sn justly noted. He was accoinpanied by PĆ³lice Commissioner Fowle and P. J. M. Hally, who was the damocratio chairman at the recent Detroit eleotion. The members of the Aun Arbor oommon counoil were present in a body on invitation of Fr. Kelly.
