Messrs. Biers & Co. have taken special pains to have the play thie season outrival all its formeï eqDJpment, both as tn oast anc environment and to that end have en gaged the brilliant co-stars, a large snp porting company, a ballet of pretty girls and a fine orchestra. Durno Tonight. Durno, the new man in magie, anc who is called the prinoe of magioians, will be at the Athens Theater this evening. He is said to be the eqoal of Hermaun and the superior of Kellar. He wil be assisted by the oelebrated prima donua soprano Matie Edyle Bowen. "A Southern Gentleman" as played at the Atheus Theater Monday eveniug by Clay Clement and bis oorupany veas wortbyof a far larger honse than greeted it at that time. Mr. Clement's presentation of Gpd, Joseph Carroll, the kind hearted conrtly Sontbern geDtleman, was most pleasing. The other charaeters were alsoeqnally well taken. Robert Mantel!, the great actor, will appear in Ann Arbor on the evening of January 4, the date on vvhich the holiday vacatioa closes. Roland Reed will play a retnrn date at the Athens Theater May 3, 1898.
