County Officers' Fees

At tbe annnal meeting of the board of supervisors of Washtenaw oounty. held in October last, tbe following sohed ule of fees for oonnty offioers, which would be allowed by tbe oommittee on claims, was presentad. No otber claims than these legal fees will be considerad in settling With the offlcers: FOR SERVICES OF SHERIFFS AND CONSTABLES IN CRIMINAL CASES. For serving a warrant, or any other prooess, for the arrest of any person, issued by any magistrate or conrt, 50 cents. For traveling to make service, going only, per mile, 10 cents. When arrest is made, for travel from place of arrest to place of return, per mile. 10 cents. For taking prisoner to jail or house of correctiou, going only, per rnile, 10 cents. For serving mittirnus, 15 cents. For serving subpoeua on any person, 15 cents. For travel necessary to serve subpoena, for eachruUè actualJy and neoesany traveled to make service, 8 cents. Surnmoniog a jury, 75 cents. Attending a jury, 50 cents. For attending oourt when ordered by ■ the court for eaoh half day eitaer on trail or exarnination when not in oharge of jury, 50 oents. For every person committed to jail, 35 cents. For every person discharged frorc jail, 35 cents. For taking prisoners before conrt, 15 cents. For taking prisoner baok to jail, lc cents. For certifying canse to other magistrates or cour.t, 15 oents. For comrnitment or raittimns, 25 cents. For an adjomnment, 15 cents. For certifícate oí couviction to file wítta tile clerk, 25 cents. For ruaking and filing return on appeal, or wbere a party is bonnd over to the circuit conrt, or any other oonrt having concurrent jurisdiction, $1. For notifying connty agents for the care of juvenile offendeis or the pendency of tbe case against any jnvenile offender, 25 cents. For arraignment and receiving a plea of guilty, in case such plea is entered, $1.50. For each arraignment where the plea of not gnijty is entered, or wher an examination is waived or demanded, $1.50. For holding examinations, including the asking of ttstimony and swearing of winesses, and for the trial of any canse weien shall inclnde the sweariug of a witnesses.the constable and jury if one be called, also the judgment and record of any exceptions or motions made dnring the trial, three dollars per day, for each day, and one and one-half dollars for each half day while actually engaged in snch examination or trial. The above ratee to be in ful! payment for all claims and expenses in snch cases, inolnding all cash expenses per diem, mileage, hack hire, meáis, lodging and all expensos whatever. For other serviues in criminal cases, for whioh no oompensation is especially provided by law, sucb snm as the board of supervisors shall allow, and tbey may in their discretion allow euch fnrther compensation for servioes of prooess and tbe expenses and trouble attending tbe same as they shall deern reasouable.
