Scandal At Freeport, Ills.

Freeport, Hls., Jan. 4.- The sheriff has succeecled in serving upon Charles Nieman the papers in the suit brought against him by Frederick S. Boynton ior $25,000 for the alienation of his wife's affections. Nieman had heretofore avoided service since the suit was filed several days ago by remaining secluded at home. Boynton has also sued his wife for divorce, naming Nieman as co-respondent. Both families stand high here and the suits have causecl a sensation in social circles.
