Bd De'Bois, of JSew York, has retarned home. i Miss Marviu, of Belleville, has been visiting in this vicinity. Jake Bohnet entertained abont 35 of his friends at liome last Friday eveniug. Mrs. Kneeland Simmons, of Saline, has been the gaest of Mrs. Wiliara Jarvis. D. P. Markey, of P.ort Huron, is the gnest of Walter Lathrop and faruiiy. Miss Leolyn Niohols bas been spending a few days with Wm. Jarvis and family. We regret to annonnce the death of tbe infant dangiiter of Mr. and Mis. John Fiegel. Friday evening, Jan. 28, the "Boys" of the StoDe Sabbath school will give a social at Mr. Steere's. The Christian Endeavor of Carpeater's Corners held a box sooial at Mr. Wallace's, Friday evening. A few of the yonng people attended the concertgiven in High Sohool hall at Ypsilanti, last Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Rose attended tbe K. O. T. M. banqnet held at Light Gaard hall, Ypsilanti, last evening. Will Stewart will leave this week for his horue in New York, having received a position iu the sohools there. Norris Marvin and Fred Smith left Tnesday to spend a few days with Mr. and Mrs. John Crane, of Vernon, formerly of this place. The O. N. O. Club met at Mr. Sberwood's last Satnrday evening. On aocoont of the weather theie was bnt a small crowd present. The Ladies' Society held its last meeting at Mrs. J. Ellsworth's. The next meeting will be held at Mrs. S. T. Gridley's the first Thnrsday in February. Cards are ont announcing the marriage of Miss Bdythe fiazzard to Mr. Sidney Barrett,of Ma6saohnsetts. Miss Hazzard was well known here and has the best wishes of her many friends.
