Tbe Valentina sale and kettledram given by tbe Ladies' Library Assooiation at Granger's aoademy Saturday aftérnoon and evening was a great snccess botb finauoially and eooially. The Punch and Jndy show nnder tbe man agement of Drs. Lombard and Hall was on exbibition boto afternoon and evening and created lots of fun. Tea was served in the afternoon fiom a Rassian samovar by 10 yoang ladies in Bnssian costnmes, and fancy goode ■were sold at the stalls. The.kettledrum which was beid in the evening was attended by over 200 people, and the proeeeds of it were all profit as the expenses bad been folly met in the afteinoon. Tbe excellent musio for tbe occasion was furnished by Mrs. Tyler and Messrs. Ray Warren and Sannders.
