Bridgeport, Conn., Feb. 15.- Colonel W. H. Stevenson has joined the Salvation Army and signalized the fact by presenting it with a check for $5,000. Jn the state of Connecticut no one is better known than Colonel Stevenson. Twice he was a candidate for governor before the convention. He has large railroad interests in Ohio and gold mines on the Pacific slope. He is known from Maine to California. He has always been a good man and charitable. But no one was prepared for his action.
