State Arbor Day

Gov. Pingree bas issned a proolamation making Maroh 29 Arbor Day. Be reoommends thafc this day be devoted by the trustees of pubJio institutions, bytbe faonlties and stndents of colleges and normal schools, by the teachers, pnpils and school boards of pnblio sohools, and tbe people of the state generally, to plant trees, shrnbs and vines abont statfi and school buildings, by tbO highwaysand around the homes. The ocoassion shonld be made one of study of the subject of planting, oare and culture of trees and of the great good that may come therefrom.
