Ordered To The Front

Prof. M. E. Cooley, cbief engineer of the Miohigan battalion of Naval Reserves, was yesterday ordered to the steamer Yosemite, now receiving her ontfit of gnns and a belt of armor at Newport News. The pnrpose of bis trip will be to faruiliarize himself with her macbinery and boilers and lay ont plans for the disposal of the men at his cominand. He will have charge of the engines of the crusier, and is an old hand wel! able to takeoare of thenj and handle them at all times. Prof. Coolay left this city Weduesday for Detroit and is now at Newport News.
