The meeting opened with runsio on the Colombian organ by Prof. Stanley, who played the "Star Spangled Banner," and "Marching Tbiongh Georgia." Tbe latter brougbt the audience to their feet and started tbem to singing wben tbe chorus was reached. Ringing speeches were made by Profs. H. B. Hotobins, J. C. Knowlton, T. S. Trueblood, R. Hndson, B. JA. Thompson and V. O. Vaughan, the Jatter saying in conclading bis speech, "We oannot easily whip Spain and must piepare for war tonight. It is America's dnty to upbold tbe Monroe doctrine aud I hope tbe war, when endsd, will see onr flag not only in Cuba bnt also over Porto Rico, the PhilipÏDes and Hawaii as wel)." Col. H. S. Dean also spoke. F. D. Eaman aud F. L. Alulbolland, two lit stndents, aleo made sbort speeches. The meeting closed with tbe singing of "America" by tbe andience. It was a hot meeting and full of enthnsiasm.
