Wisconsin Celebrates

Madison, "Wis., June 7. - The celebration of the semi-centennial of Wisconsin's admission into the "Union has opened in this city. Several thousand visitors are present from all parts of the state. Governor Bushnell and staff of Ohio are here. The weather is delightful The celebration was ushered in with a procession from the depot on the arrival of a special train bringing the officers of the Milwaukee Carnival association and other distinguished guests. The parade of the state university faculty and students was the flrst in the history of the institution. Visitors were welcomed on behalf of the state by Governor Scofield and on behalf of the city by Mayor Whelan. The resnonse was bv Governor Bushnell.
