Jacksonville, Fia., June 11.- A torpedo in the St. Johns river at St. Johns bluff, eighteen miles below Jacksonville, exploded, killing three men and badly wounding Lieutenant Hart of the United States engineer corps, in charge of the work of fortifying the river at that point. One of the killed was John O'Rourke, an electrician, married, one child, of Jacksonville, who was at work ,-with a forcé of men the torpedees placed in the river. How the accident occurred is not known.
