The half tone supplement recites the history of the iudomitable industry and oourage of ita fonnder, James E. Soripps. What is, however, the most iuteresting feature, is the reprint fao sirnile of tbe News of Aug. 23, 1873. The oontrast of the news and advertising columns of that day and this is very striking. Among the advertisers are many farnliar names of long ago. Iu the editorial columns Grant's third term aüd the resumption of peaoe payrnents are discussed.
