It has been decided that the First brigade remains at Knoxville and the 31st Michigan has prepared winter quarters by placing three tents together, end to end, with a stove in the center tent, and the other two for sleeping quarters, with four men in each.
Sibley stoves have been issued. Lumber will be furnished by the government, and the soldiers will be made as comfortable as possible.
