Uncle Sam Made a Good Profit in Ann Arbor.

The receipts of the Ann Arbor post office for November for stamps, postal cards, envelopes and periodical postage was $3,419.02. This is $213.06 less than it was in November last year, but as there were some extraordinary sales in November of last year which probably reduced the December sales of that year slightly, it is probable that this loss will be more than made up this month. The sales of October this year were about $8 more than the sales of October last year. The sales last month were divided as follows: Ordinary stamps $414.37, Omaha stamps $2,309.47, postal cards $196.39, envelopes $385.85, periodical and newspaper postage $112.94. The newspaper postage was the largest for a single month in the history of the office. After paying all the expenses of the office Uncle Sam received $1,915.82 as his profit from this office in November and $2,034.72 in October. This is $324.98 less than he received for the same two months last year.
