                   It Was Fully Organized Yesterday,
                             and Elected Officiers.

The first election of the Ann Arbor Chicory Co. was held yesterday afternoon. The directors chosen were John Heinzmann, Jacob Laubengayer, W. J. Booth, Thomas D. Kearney, John Walz, jr. . and J. F. Lawrence.
The board of directors then organized by electing John Heinzrnann, president; J. F. Lawrence, vice president: W. J. Booth, secretary and treasurer

The company propose pushing their business and doing not only a good thing for themselves but for Ann Arbor and the vicinity in creating a market for a new product.
President Heinzmann has sent a calegram to Belgium ordering sufficient of the best quality of chicory seed sufficient to sow 30 acres.
The chicory roots are protected by a duty of 40 cents a pound, has practically cut off all importations from Europe.
The farmers that make contracts are taking very little risk, as the company agrees to pay them $6 a ton for their crop.
They therefore have their market secured before the crop is planted.
