E. M. Pierce and wife were in Chelsea on Saturday.

Edward M. Pierce returned from Ann Arbor on Friday.

David DuBois was at Wolf Creek, Lenawee county on Monday.

Mrs. Dexter, of Chicago, is visiting her niece Mr. Helen Gillett.

Wacker Bros. have been building wire fence for L. S. Hulbert.

Miss Carrie Buss spent Sunday with her sister Miss Louise Buss.

Miss Anna Kuhl spent Sunday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Kuhl.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hall spent Sunday with their son Frank Hall, of Norvell.

Mrs. Mowry Pierce has gone to Ovid to spend the summer with her cousin Mrs. J. Kent.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Pardee were called to Grass Lake last week by the death of their niece Ruth Comstock, who was burned to death on Monday.

Rats gnawed a hole through the barn floor at Myron C. Pierce's last week, letting a quantity of wheat run into the basement. Five head of cattle ate of the wheat and all of them sickened, but only one died.
