Prof. R. O. Austin has accepted the principalship of the Lowell schools. 

The express is now carried by L.M. Thorn. His contract having begun on Monday.

Peter Cook has deeded land to the Ann Arbor railroad for a depot at Urania station.

Miss Webb, of the Chelsea high school, spent Saturday and Sunday with her parents here.

The creamery is doing a rushing business, in consequence of the increase pasture, the few rains have brought forth.

E.W. Wallace and wife returned yesterday, Wednesday morning, from Chattanooga, Tenn., where they were visiting their son.

The malicious report that Christian Schleh had sold diseased meat has been found to be entirely unfounded, after the closest investigation.

Work on the new Methodist church is progressing rapidly under the careful management of Contractors Schaffer and Ufford. The foundation walls are about finished.

Contractor Griffin, of the Ypsilanti-Saline line, was in town Tuesday and engaged the Warner house barn for his teams. Work at this end of the line started this morning.

Seven cars of live stock were shipped from Saline last week, of which O'Hara & Hertler shipped two cars of sheep, one car of hogs and one of cattle. E. A. Hauser shipped one car of hogs and two cars of sheep.
