TRADED FOR MULES.

A Manchester Horse Which Didn't Belong to The Trader.

Some of our readers will remember Irving Verselius, a "horse dentist," who was first seen in Manchester about two years ago. Several weeks ago he hired a horse and buggy of George Nisle, and was for some time seen about Bridgewater and Saline. George saw him one day and told him to bring the rig home which he promised to do. but instead went to Chelsea, where George lost track of him. About three weeks ago Verselius traded the horse and rig to John Miller, of Sylvan, for a span of mules, afterward selling the mules to some of the rag peddlers in "Wonderland." He, then induced Miller to go off with him towards Danville, where they spent the money received for the mules. George went to Chelsea and put the matter in the hands of the offlcers. Deputy Sheriff Lehman took the scent, found the rig and located Verselius at Mason, where he arrested him and brought the whole shooting match back to Chelsea. The scamp was put in jail to await examination, while George returned home with his property. The examination was held at Chelsea yesterday. ---Manchester Enterprise
