A Splendid Time to be Had at Whitmore Lake July 4.

Every one is going to Whitmore Lake July 4 to get a good dinner, to hear good speaking, to enjoy good music and singing. Round trip only 25 cents, children 15 cents. Trains at 7:30, 8:30, 9, 10:30 and 12:35. Returning trains leave at 7, 8, and 9 p. m. The picnic is for the benefit of St. Thomas' new church which is to be finished this year. All the friends of this worthy enterprise are invited to come to Whitmore Lake and enjoy the festivities. The most varied as well as the most enjoyable program ever given at these gatherings will be put on this year.

Father Goldrick will be toastmaster.  The principal speakers of the day will be Senator George Monaghan, of Detroit, who has the reputation of being one of the greatest orators in the state.  Senator Chas. A. Ward who had done so much for the university, and Denny Donahue, the hero of Aguadores and great newspaper correspondent.  The singers will be Dr Spitzley, Miss Frances Caspary, Jim Harkins and Bruno St. James.  Music by St. Thomas' orchestra and the Ann Arbor Big Band.  Two programs will be given one at 3 and the other at 5 p.m.  All the speakers and soloists will appear in the first program together with St. Thomas' orchestra.  The second program at 5 will be in charge of the band and will close with the national song "America" in which the soloists, the band and the entire audience will be asked to join.  The words will be printed on the program.  Look out for program next week.
