Wm. Lunn, Colored, Knocked Out With a Brick.

Ypsilanti, July 31. - As the result of a laudable desire to see peace among his fellows, William Lunn, a colored laborer, is nursing a three-inch scalp wound over his right eye, and Simon Preston, a second colored man, is evading the officers. Last evening William Long and Simon Preston became involved in a quarrel over their respective abilities as runners, and Lunn endeavored to separate them. Long finally walked away from Preston, when suddenly the latter, it is alleged, picked up a brick and hurled it fairly at Long's head. He dodged, however, and the missile struck Lunn, the peacemaker, over the eye. He was picked up senseless, but was soon brought around, and it was found that the injury was not a serious one. The brick was hurled with such force that it was broken in two pieces on his head. --Tribune.
