Eau Claire, Wis., Aug. 14.—O. H. Ingram, president of the Rice Lake Lumber company, said Saturday that if men did not return to work immediately the company would close the mills permanently at Rice Lake. Two hundred and fifty men are involved in the strike. If Ingram carries out his threat it will kill the town. The employees struck for a ten-hour work day at a rate they were getting for eleven hours.
