Chelsea, Mich., Sept. 26. - Special to the Argus. - Judge Newkirk is in the village today taking testimony on the insanity of Delos Cummings, now confined in a Dearborn retreat. Judge Newkirk had refused to declare him a public charge, and now comes the formal committment to an asylum at the expense of the property he has left.

The judge also said that he would probably make an order for the committment of Mrs. J. D. Schnaitman, formerly of this village, but now of the Third ward of Ann Arbor.
