When the Spanish mortar was placed on the campus, it was predicted that the present senior class - the natural enemies of the class '99 which secured he relic of the late war - would not let it remain silent long.
Everybody has anticipated that the mischievously inclined of the '00 lits would load it up and let the people of Ann Arbor know what kind of language it talked.

But Supt. Reeves has anticipated these anticipations and has spiked the gun so that enthusiastic students could not fire it off.
