BROTHER-IN-LAW LANDS A JOB

Democrat Appointed as a Rural Mail Carrier

HE GOT THE "O.K.-E.J.H."

Although Republican Ceasar Said that no Democrats Need Apply

"O.K.-E.J.H.," the self-accused next chairman of the republican county committee, is having more trouble explaining to the farmers of Lodi how it was that Mr. Perry was supplanted in his appointment as mail carrier for the route than a university professor has in elucidating the demonstration of the bi-nominal theorem to the freshman class in mathematics.

At first, it was because Mr. Perry might be a democrat and "Meinself und Heinrich" weren't going to let any of that breed in on the trough - not if they knew it. Then it was shown that Mr. Perry had always been a republican - that his father was a republican before him and in fact they had never voted for anybody but republicans.

At the same time the Lodi farmers wanted to know how it happened, if none but republicans were to be appointed as rural mail carriers, that George Johnson, a brother-in-law of "O.K-E.J.H." and a life long democrat happened to get the appointment to carry the mail out on the Saline route.

The carrier for the Dixboro route has not yet been appointed. But then "O.K.-E.J.H." has another brother-in-law who is not yet in office. May be the proof-reader on the Times is slated for that job as quick as he can find a purchaser for his interest.
