Leonard so far reoovered con9ciousness as to stato that he had draak drugged whisky ia the hotel barn i'roui a bottle given hiiu by a tall stranger with a black mustache. The syroptoms showed the drug to have been strychnine as reportcd. Later - Friday, 10 o'clock, a. m., dispatcu says : " Leonard is O. K. Many rumora as to the cause of his tickness." - Vernon Herald. Ahnon C. Brown and Jessee Parmr ( r, of Corunna wero arrested last week lor attempting to blackmail Otto Krell of Vernon, and for having the tools for muking counterfeit ruoney in thoir posscesiou. Krell was arrestod last Saturday night at 10 o'olock, at his home on a sham warrant, handcuffed, and locked up in Brown's office over night. Brown and his accomjilir.' pretended to find counterfeit uioney, dies, etc, in Krell's house, and offered to settle for a consideration. Brown will be held on three charges : Dies found in his possession, for falso imprisonuient of Krel), and for an attempt to blackmail.
