The Germán Lutheran Synod for the northoru district of Obio which inoludes Michigan, met at Zion's church in this city, on tlie 18th inst. , and remained in aession up to and including the 25th. Thorc were present 47 ministers, 26 lay delegates, and 7 teachers, who took part in the proceediags of the convention, wbioh were of much interest to the church end its welfare. The sossions were presided over by F. Kuzber, of Ft. Wayne Ind., Kev. Mr. Helle, of üraoeloa ühio.was vice-president, and Rev. Cari Franke, of Jackson, Mich., was the eecretary. Prof. L. Shuette, of Colunabus, Ohio, represented the general synod. On Saturday last, upon invitation of Prof. Frieze, the membcr8 visited the uuiversity. Tho Prof. rcoeived theru at his room at 3 o'clock p. m., and oscortcd them over the various buildings, and throngh tho hbraries, musoums, hospitals, etc., complcting the oirouit at univereity hall. Different ones expressed themselves very much pleased with the acoustio properties of tho hall, and to test the same, sunit a Germau carol ontitled : " Eine i'este burg ist unser Gott." This being the first (terman liymn to which tUo wulls of the hall ever rosouuded, it wa.s oonsidcred worthy of note. Upon Nondiy evening Prof. Harrington extended them an invitation to visitthe observatory which was accepted. The evening was clear and 'Lright, and excellent views of the moon, Júpiter, Satura, etc., were obtained. Prof. Schaberle presided at tho instrument, and was vcry courteous to his guests. The inembers of the synod all expressed themselves as being very much pleased with Ann Arbor and its hospitablo people.
