Miss Ada Knight is to attend Vassar college this ycar. Prof. M. C. Tyler'a genial face is seen upon our strcets again. Dr. C. L. Ford and family returned from the cast last Friday. S. B. llevenaugh and family recently paid their father a visit at Jacksoo. Mrs. Ellen Lusk, of New Haven, Mich., lias been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Fall for the past week. Jonathan Sprague is to attend the grand lodge, I. O. O. F., to be held at Toronto, commencing Monday, next. L. O. Bragg, of Kalamazoo was in the oity yesterday, visiting his sister, Mrs. Wm. Noble, and other relativos. The Hon. A. J. Sawyer, of this city, speaks at New Buffalo tonight and ai Three üaks to-morrow night. Mrs. A. L. Noble and family returned Tuesday from Albion, N. Y., where they have been spending the summcr. Frank E. Johnson, formcrly with Joe T Jacobs, who has been in Colorado the past year, has returned to his home in this city. Waldby, of Adrián was in tho city last Tuesday, being shown the political wires of this county, which he is expected to pull. Miss Ella M. Ilill has been appointec instructor of modern Ianguages in the Rockford fcmale seminary, at Rockford Illinois. An excellent appointinent. Rev. G. VV. Owen, of tho Wyandotte Herald, was a caller at the Courier office Mouday. He reports business booming with a hard struggle to keep up with or ders. F. L. Mallory, who has recently re turned from Nora, where he has purchase a place, will remain the coming fall an winter with A. Wilsey, in the music busi ness. II. Waterman has returned from the Petoskey camp grounds, greatly pleasei with tho beauty of that región, and report ing great progress in tho building of cot taces. The Muskegon Chroniclc saya this which ia all right, ezcept that he isn't a gradúate : " Max Zinkeison, of thin city a recent gradúate at the university o: Michigan, has gone to Europe for a two yeara coursc of atudy at Leipsic."
