A good reputation is to a business firm a key-note to public coufidencc, and success the result of good repute sustained. There is perhaps throughout the entire west no firra better known or more deserving of the confidence and endorsement of its appreciative patrons than that of M. S. Smith & Co., iuiporters, diamond and jewelry iuercliants, of Detroit. No deceptiou is resortod to, no trickery practiced, no false cost aud selling marks displayed to the customer to uiislead. An honcst and straightforward course, the years of expericnce ol M. S. Smith & Co., has most forcibly proved the best. All goods are eold for what they are- not what they seenj. The fair, the medium and the best articles are exhibited and the customer enlightened in regard to the points of excellence or inferiority of each. Everything is marked in plain figures, so that "he who runs may read," and prices adjusted upon a basis ol profit that is equitable and far from exhorbitant. Heing the only firm in their line in Michigan which makes direct importations trom the European markets by personal attcndance and selection, they are cntitled to consideraron shared by no other house, and fully merit tho benefits they have derived therefrom. To recoramend is the duty of all who know them. To buy of them to invest safely.
