The Detroit Post and Tribune has tbis to say in regard to someof Gov. Croswell's appointment8 : "Governor Croswell has been callcd upon within the last yeur to appolut four circuit Jiuïges as follows: One in tlie third circuit in place of Judge Keiley. resigned ; one in the mix tli in place of Judge Baldwin, reslgned ; one In the tenth in place of Judge Tennant, reslgned ; one in the nlneteenth in place of Juuge llainlit, cleceased. In every instaure hls appointment to nll such vacuncy has been connrmed by tlie people at the recent electlons. In Humo instauren the appointment was o satisfactory that uo opposlng candidate was put In the licht, and in others the governor's nppointee was ratlfied, notwlthstandlng the opposlng political party had a majorlly in toe circuit. The electiou of Judge Chambers in the third circuit, of Judge Gaskill in thenlzth,of Judge Gage in the tenth, and of Judge Judklns in the nineteenth, are all evidences of good judgmeut on the part of the governor, appreclated by the people." The governor'8 exceljent judgment in the matter of making appointments is proverbial. He rarely makes a miftake. lie takes time for considerador], and wlien he makes tip his uiirid he scarcely ever fails to be rijcht. - Adrián Times. Gov. Croswell has made a good governor. If the Times would now show the zeal to make him the next United States senator that it did in his nomination for governor, he might prove a formidable opponent to some of the other candidates.
