Across the miles that stretch belween, Throujjh days of gloom or glad sunlïght, There shmes a face 1 have not seen, That ytt tlotli make my whole world bright. lie may be near he inay be far; How near. how far, I cannot see; But, faithful as the morning star, He yct shalj rise and come to me. Wfaat though Fate lead us separate waysThe world is round, and time is Heet; A journey of a few brief d:iys, And face to face we two sliall meet. Shall meet beneath Ciod's arching skies, Wliile suris shall blaze, or stars shall Icam, And, into each oihcr's eyes, SbaiJ hold the past but as a dreaiu, And round, and perfect, and complete, Ufe, like a star, shall climb the height, As we two press with willing: Cfeet. Together, toward the Infinite. And still behind the space hetween. As back of dawns the sunbeams play, There shines the face I have oot seen, Whose sinile shall wake my world to-ilay.
