No circlets deck the hands Thai are so fair to me ; n-u parkjing -rtr jeweled bands On those dear tingers be. Xot shapely hands, not soft and white, Nor sniall and purple veined ; Dut larg-e and brown and wrinkled now, And worn and labor-stained, What kindly deeds those hands have done, What hurdens helped to bear; How oft they've líghtencd heavy loads, And lifted weights of care ! Hre lonjf those hands before God's throtie Shall strike a harp of gold; And Ups shall join "the ncw, new song," That's old as time is old. How sad and lone my heart will be, (low tears my eyes will litl, When ctasped upon the pulseless breast Those hands lie cold and stil 1 . I hope to clasp them close in mine, When 1 walk the Golden Sands 'l'ï.cyMl bc the flrst to welcome me. Mv mother's blessed hands.
