Dr. Smitli has returned from the Kast. Mrs. Dr. Cowles has just returned from the East. Mr. Maynard, of División Street, is reported as quite sick. F. L. Mallory, a former member of the M. E. choir, is in town. Mrs. Israel Hall is slowly recoverinjf from her recent attack of sickness. Mrs. Faulkner started on an eastern trip last week. to be fione several davs. C. R. Pattison, of the Ypsilanti Commercial dropped into our office on Tuesday last. Mr. C. Mack, of the flrm of Mack & Schinid, went east on business last Monday. Mrs. Dr. Volland has returned from the sea shore and has resutned her practice in this city. A. L. Noble is gainingmore rapklly since th npplication of a piaster of Paris cast to his body. We were pleased to see Dr. Breakey out riding on Tuesday. He had not been out before for some weeks. Earle Knight, Secretary of the Arin Arbor Agricultural Company, has gone West on business for the company. JiiBtice and Ezra Carpenter, former residents of this city, now living in Dulutli, were visiting here the ñrst part of the week. Mrs. N. II. Pierce, Mr. and Mrs. J. Tayor and Jmlre Lawrence visited a spirituist conventlon at Terre Haute, Itul., last weck. Dr. Franklin has been offered the posiion of dean and full professorship of surgery in the St. Louis Homeopathie Medical College. Wm. A. Russell, ot tne Mining Journal, Carquette, Mich., while visiting a brother ¦ this city, gave us A pleasant cali u few lays ago.
