The oppoiients of Senator Ferry point to the fact tliat certain legislators signed a pledge to go into any republican senatorial caucns that should stipulate that 67 votes should be required to nomínate, as indicutive of the fact that the opposition is fair and reasonable in its spirit. It requires just G7 votes to elect a senator. Now what particular virtue Í9 to be accredited to an opposition that avows its willingness to observe the usages and precedents of its party- provided it shall first be demonstrated that its services and votes are not at all necessury to elect ?- Adrián Times.
