"Maclean did his best to get elected president of the State Medical Society. If ui election would have v'mdicated liim, ashe clairaed, we wonder how he takes his nonelection. We consider Dr. Rynd of Adrián one of the ablest men in Southern Michigan, and what ia still better a man of thorough lionest convictions, and a man that vvill not do a mean thing if he knows it, but we must say that in his little contest wltli Willard Stearns of the Adrián press, we think the Dr. wrong and Willard right. Judge Chipman refused Monday to graut a new trial In the Maclean Scripps case. The counsel for the lattcr luid asked for a new trial on the gronnd that the Judge had erred in his rulings, and he, naturally refusiug to concede this, denied them a new trial on these grounds. The Newswill appeal the case to the Supreme Court. The ancient city of Santa Fe, New Mexico, is 333 years old this year, and its citizens propose to celébrate their tertio-millenial anniversary by having a mining and industrial exposition from July 2d to August 3d. Tlie city in its life has been subject to three civilizations, and iis history has been eventful. A cordial invitation to the " Editor and Lady '' has been received. We regret we have to decline the pleasure of nttending.
