Mr. Paul Mnn8 is vislting at Jackson. Mrs. Ross of Soutli Bend, Indiana, is at rr. P. li. Rosc's. Theodore Taylor lias relarned and expccts to remain. Mrs. 8. M. Graliam. has moved from State street to 85 Ann street. Pranklin Mead of Detroit is visiting hit sister, Mrs. L. M. Clark, of this city. James A. Aston and daughter, of Columbus, Ohio, are visiting at Mr. Jacobs'. Rev. R. B. Pope has been out of town this week lectiiring in various parts of the State. Mis. A. J. Sutherland is visiting with her daughter, Mr. O. E. Haven, of Evanston, Illinois. Mrs. Barker, nee Meta Ames, started Wednesday forenoon for her home in McGregor, Iowa. Miss Mary Ashley spent last week in Cincinnati in attendance upon the dramatic festival. Mrs. Ashley and Miss C. L. Houghton have gone to Chicago to attend the Unitarian conference. Henry Binder, until recently with Haller & Son, has accepted a place in a jewelry store in Detroit. Reuben Kempf, Ambrose Kearney and Trumau Wadharns have gone prospecting into the northern part of the State. Lucy M. Clark has moved from Hurón St. where she has lived for the past eight years, and has rooms over Mr. Stimson's store. Allen Pond has been obliged on account of hls health, to resign his position in the High School, and he is going to Georgia to recupérate. Judge McLellan was at his home in the city last Sunday. He has recently been elected one of the trustees of the Nlckle plate railroad. Judge Harriman was In Detroit Tuesday attending the conclave of the Knights Templar. He was appointed at the head of the committee on finance. Frank K. Proctor, of Hillsdale, assistant quarterrnaster general of the G. A. R.; A. M. Holt, of Detroit, chief mustering officer, and Robert Huff of Detroit were present Tuesday evening, to muster in the new Post of veterans. James E. Field and wife of Alpena were visiting relatives in town the early parl of the week. They report that Frank Emerick, who went from here several years ago, is giving universal satisfaction as judge in the Alpena district.
