R. Kent, who for a few short nonths has been with us, one who, noted 'or liis unassuraing nianners, his kindness of heart, his f aithful devotion to the duties he owed to iiis teachers and his fellow student, whose niemory will ever be cheriëhed by his friends as well as by his fellow students of this school, would offer the following: It U hard to understand, üoii'i ways souullke our; Weseek the fountain of hlsjoy He sends us grief In sbowers. With sharpness he confronta us oft, A ml blds us meet the blow, WUh sweetness aud with Joy, altho' It hurts, and wounds us so. Brother Kent was one of our most faithful students and f rom the tirst took adeep riterest in the welfare of the school. Being a true chnstian he was faithful in his attendance at the M. E. Church of tbs city. Being a temperance man he was always present at the temperance meetings in Cropney's Hall where he was leader of the choir. Blessed with a warm and generous tieart, as a husband aud father, he was ever und and true. We do not desire to utter any unmerited eulogy upon the character of our schoolmate, but chronicle our apsreciationofhim as a fellow student; therefor, Hesolved, That in the death f brother Kent we have lost a valued and worthy student. Resolved, That in this their most severe ïrial, we offer our sincere condolence to the widow, children, and heart stricken mother of the deceased. May He who tempera the wind to the shorn lamb, pour the halm of consolation into their wounded hearts. Resolved, That we return a note of thanks to the students and citizens of Ann Arbor for their attendance and help during Brother Kent's sickness. Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be presented to the family of the deceased, and a copy sent to the county papers for publication.
