Fortunntely for those liaving presidential aspirations none of them have their candklacy in especial prominorice up to this date. We say fortunately, for the past has sliown that where any have been leading the others they liave been killed off. Thia has alwavs been the case, cxcept with Grant in 1808, when he had no strong opposition. However llie candidates most frequently nientioned are Arthur, Edtunnds, Blaine and Logan. All are good men, and either one if noininated can be elected. Althougli Arthur is making no special effort, it is generally conceded that he has done well in the AVhitc House, and would be a safe man to continue tbere. If bis friends secure the New York delegation he will undoubtedly go into the Chicago convention with a üood lead. In connection with all of the candidates, Robert Lincoln is mcntioned for the second place. That niuch is conceded to him, and should there be a deadlock between the others it is uot at all improbable that he muy come in as a "dark horse" for the head of the tickets. All factibns conld unlte on him.
