When the mercury is in the shade, And the hammock in t uuiet nook is swaycd In the glade; Wïicn the bird with ping bill Drinks the sunshinc in distil Into song whene'er he will- That's the time and place to woo A blus hing muid, Thoufih 'most any other time and place will do, When the autumn sear is laid upon thft land. And the lazy ocean laps the shilting strand Where you stand And the daisies droop and die - Droop like blustiing maiden's eye Who is kissed upon the sly- Th it's the time and place to ask A m;tiden's hand, Though 'most any time is suited to the task. When the winter wlnds, engaged in blust'ring strife, Secm as nature's passions bursting into life; When are rife IToary frost and fleecy snow; When the home-henith is aglow, Like the heart love's breezes blow- That's Die time of year to wed A Hule wife, Though 'most ay other time will do instead.
