Those havingin charge the coming fair of the Waslitenaw County Agriciiltural and Ilorticultural Society, are maklDg a great efl'ort t exoel nll prerkwi fairs of the society. The premium lista have been distribuid!, and the farmers can see for themselve the auioiint and cxtent of premiums offered. The exhibitiori will last four days, September 29th and 30th, . and October lst and 2d. The president of the association, John V. N. Gregory, of Dexter, is a live, wideawake man, aud is assisted by J. E. Sumner, Ann Arbor, recordlng secretary; H. C. Markhain, corresponding secretary; W. V'. To.er, tieasurer; and A. V. Robinson, superintendent, witli the fullowing vice-presidents: W. E. IJoyden, David L. Cody. O. L. Godfrey, J. C. Bird and Nathan Sulton. Tliese names are synonoymous with succes. They iilwaya succeed in their um'titakings, and have taken hold of this society with a determination to make in every way such an exhibition as the people of thU county have not had before tor years. Consideiing the condition of aft'aiis, and the necessity there is for work, the people of Wasbtenaw county should willingly put tlieir slioulders to the wheel and Iielp place the society up on the solld roadway of success. Let everyone resolve tliis year not only to come and bring the family, but bring soinetMni: to add to the exhibition. You must have a fine horse or a cow, or an ox or nn ass, or an animal of some sort tliat is just as good as any your neighbors liavc. or a little belter. If so, bring t to the fair and contest for a prem uui. If you haven't any animáis bring some fowls, ciiickens, geese, ducks, pea fowli, doves, they will all add to the show, and you stand is good an opportunity of getting your money back as any one. Then there are a theusand and one other things that can be brought: wheat, oats, rye, barley- the big pumpkins and the big squashes- there ought to be lots of theni tliia year. Thcn tliere are the articlesof liandiwork in the Iadie'department, that was wout to be the most interestingof any. Just a little lift, a trifle broiiirht by each one, and the whole will make a grand display. Will you oat do what you can to make the county fair of 18S5 a rousing success?
