The readers of "Ben Hur," Gen. Lew Wallace's fascinating " Story of the Clirist,1' will be glad to know that the sweet song of the fair Ksryptiun, "Wake not, but hoar ine Love," has been set to music by Geo. L. Osgood, and publUhed by Oliver Ditsou & Co., Boston, at 35 cents. Gen. Adam Badeau is to write a series of "War Stories for Boys and Girls" for the coming year of St. 1Í cholas. They will be panoramic descriptions of single contests or short campaigns, each one treated separately, as a subject complete in itself, aud the youtliful reader can overlook the two anules and y lew the battle field from the begin ning to the end of the strujrgle, but with the advantage of having every movement and charge, every nttack and manoeuvre, cxplained to him. Víctor Hugo's "Day Break.'' with music by N. H. Allen, '-Nellthe Village Lass, by J. W. Wheeler (each 30 cents), and Max Piuttl'i version of the Swedish Folk song, "Hiffh is the Vaull of Heaven," (25 cents), charming love songs are announced by Oliver Ditson & Co. They also announce the following choice instrumental pieces: "Waltf, from the Opera of "Love's Vow," (35 cenU), "Lilly's Garden, Polka,'' au excellent teaching piece (23 cents), "Mandolín Polka" for Violln, by C E.
